The first appearance of Arthur Henry Bullen's (1857-1920) Lyrics from Elizabethan Song-Books, released in a limited edition, and gifted to army Major-General Edward Brooke in 1890 by his brother. Bullen, founder of the Shakespeare Head Press, also lectured on Elizabethan dramatists at Oxford, and was the first person to publish several early lyric poems, with his anthologies contributing significantly to the Oxford Book of English Verse.
