Two apparently unrecorded advertisements for water closets manufactured by engineers and machinists Fyfe & Co. available for purchase from their premises at Covent Garden. The lavatories, particularly the 'patent hermetically sealed invalid's chamber pail', are promoted as being ideal for use in hospital settings, with many already installed in military and naval infirmaries, as they render 'a sick room at all times as fresh and comfortable to enter, as a well appointed sitting-room' and do not permit 'the diffusion of noxious effluvia'.
